The noise is justified for one of the best-known street food proposals in the center. Among the already limited Neapolitan pizza options in the city, Salento stands out for the marriage of the street food concept with elements of haute cuisine, for the interesting menu suggestions, and for the simple but original and now successful conception of the salentina (puffed bread made from maturing dough baked in wood oven available in 10-12 special filling options). Apart from the awesome salentines and the humble layout and communication profile of the shop that I think have shaped Salento's reputation, one can find decent Italian pizza (with the same excellent dough, but floppy due to humidity), some vegan and vegetarian alternatives, sometimes lasagna and salads. The common denominator is the high quality level of the raw materials, the particular diligence of the recipes and the relatively light result (given that it is a Mediterranean cuisine) indicative of the quality and moderate fat content and use of spices. Representative prices, beautifully designed and characterful shop, rich online material and of course I could not but confirm the majority of reviews referring to the excellent and kind staff of the shop who perform in what seems to be particularly demanding conditions. Alternative, warm and friendly place, you always find a queue of people waiting to order. It's worth the wait as it provides flavors reminiscent of classic Neapolitan pizza. Thin dough, fresh and quality ingredients and definitely a very good choice for pizza in the city of Thessaloniki. Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner
