I booked a table via Google/ Quandoo the evening before Easter for the next day (Easter). I received the positive booking confirmation via email that same evening (shortly after 9pm on Saturday). On my own initiative, I contacted the restaurant via WhatsApp to ask if it was possible to order via the a la carte menu and not do the Easter menu that I had found on Instagram (on Quandoo there was no indication of the Easter menu). We then find a solution with the manager. At 12:00 on Easter the restaurant contacted me via WhatsApp to ask for the surname for the reservation. I provide my last name and I get a call back. Very rudely, the employee of the restaurant claims that I was incorrect in booking the table at 12 (which is absolutely false given that the last email from Quandoo dates back to the evening before). I try to explain that in reality this is not the case, but the employee continues to maintain that it was my fault and that the table was not available. So I reply piqued, since I have been accused several times of lying, saying that I am no longer interested in having lunch there. I understand that in hot periods like Easter there may be problems with management systems and reservations, but placing the blame on the customer is totally unprofessional, especially when you are in the wrong. I do not recommend the place therefore not for the dishes, which we were not able to taste, but for the unprofessional and courteous manner of the staff. Food: 3 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 3
Pasta with clams as it should be Excellent fried calamari, crispy and dry on the outside and soft on the inside. Excellent friendly and professional personal service. It's difficult to eat badly in Naples, but it's also difficult to eat as well as at the Hostaria Mergellina. Today the mussels as a starter were perfect, cooked just right and full of flavors and aromas, as were the spaghetti with clams and the fried calamari, the main dish today's menu, calamarata with seafood and gurnard, a delicious dish, all in a very quiet environment and with attentive and kind staff. A place we will return to. The price is in line with the quality of the dishes and the service.
