A real gem! Located in a narrow alley. Loads of photos of famous ppl who have visited are all over the walls. Opened in 1973, seems like they know what they are doing. Food and drinks were great. Reasonably priced. 10% tip included. For the level of service, I’m not in disagreement. I totally would recommend this place!
It is a traditional restaurant tucked away from the crowd on the otherwise residential street, and it looks better inside than the frontage suggests. Other reviews mention old photos showing the team with various supposedly famous customers, but the most interesting bit here is that you can recognise the people (not only the owner but also waitresses etc. on these pictures clearly taken a couple of decades ago. This is cute and usual for visitors from some other countries (e.g. this is hard to encounter in the UK , but I guess it also explains some of the negative reviews the staff know they 're secure and don 't exactly go out of their way to necessarily make everyone 's experience special. Our experience wasn 't bad though apart from a long wait despite a booking being made (again something other reviewers have mentioned . The prices are indeed on a higher side for Naples, but not too much I 'd say. Be aware of the 10% service charge and that the check you 'll receive with be handwritten and not itemised we have like two unreadable scribbles in Italian for a dinner for 3 and a total amount on it. They will take cards though and will agree to split the bill between different people paying (not something everyone would easily do in Naples . Food wise, the seafood pasta I ordered was underwhelming, but a selection of tartars was nice (some other reviewer complained about it resting on a layer of avocado, but I think it actually compliments the fish and is not here just to inflate the price . Overall, it is a 'character ' place with a few rough sides. I think most people would love it, but some might be disappointed.
Spent 5 rainy May days in Napoli ate at Da Dora twice. Its a fab place. Very real very good food shame we are leaving today, would be happy to go back. Don't miss out. The seafood pasta and risotto are wonderful.
Great seafood place that is hard to get into. Don't go trying to get a table, you need to reserve in advance. We were delighted with the options we chose (Dora platter and Linguini Vongole) Everything on the menu looked amazing.
