Bidrage med feedbackWe stopped to get a beer, but decided to be more adventurous after seeing people at the next table get barnacles and tiny snails. We got the barnacles but then opted for the cockles instead of the snails. They were good and it was our first time trying them both. The barnacles taste like the ocean and our server was helpful in showing us how to eat them. The cockles were great in the tomato sauce with onions. It would take a lot to get full on this fare, but it was fun to try.
Possibly the last of the typical eateries. Nothing fancy, basic fare, raucuous ambiance. But... the owners are honest, the portions are fair, and the service is speedy. A plateful of cockle in a reddish sauce with plenty of onion slices and tomato chunks will seu you back €6, a big spider crab €25/€35 (feeds 4). Wholesome food, hearthy welcome, it's my spot in Nazaré. Obviously, it will not suit for a marriage proposal or to meet your future in laws and it will not impress a girl on second thought if it does you probably have a keeper and should consider putting a ring on it.
This is a good place to have a beer and watch the sunset. Nothing special but the beer is cheap and cold.
