Planet Thailand - Natchez

A group of us meet once monthly for Saturday noon lunch. We eat at Planet Thailand at least 9 out of 12 months per year. We mainly order the sushi which is out of this world delicious and we have never had a bad meal or experience. We occasionally get a curry, rice or noodle dish and each and every one is mouthwatering. The service is fast, orders are accurate with lots of attention to our picky details. The food is superb and is something we really look forward to every month.

My main complaint was the wait. In a restaurant with only 3 tables seated, we waited nearly 1 1/2 hours for our 3 dishes general chicken, chicken in red curry, and chicken fried rice. Our waitress was running her backside off. However, the kitchen staff (at least 2 men) were on their phones the entire time we were there. This is why our food took forever to come out. I pointed out that the wait times for an empty restaurant was a common repeating complaint about the restaurant on Google, and the waitress apologized profusely. It wasn 't her fault, she was the only one working it appeared. The curry was okay, though the viscosity was off and while the heat was good the flavor was flat. The fried rice had a good flavor but was oddly sweet...very sweet. Either someone used sugar or Jamie Oliver was back there using honey, but the taste was off putting. The general chicken was spot on. Not too sweet and not too gooey from lots of starch. The coating was still crisp and the sauce didn 't make it stodgy. The sauce was made with a base of maybe sweet Thai chili, soy and hoisen instead of just jarred sweet and sour sauce with hoisen added, like many places. So I have to give props on that. The restaurant is quaint and clean. The bathroom is not so much, and it makes me concerned for the cleanliness of the kitchen. Not top stars by any measure, but good general tso chicken, though. FYI THEY CHARGE A FEE FOR NO ICE IN THEIR DRINKS. MANAGER IS VERY RUDE ABOUT CUSTOMER REQUESTS IN EAR SHOT OF CUSTOMERS. Foods good though Service: Dine in Meal type: Lunch Food: 3 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1

Friend of mine went in here for lunch, but unfortunately I couldn 't tag along due to a work schedule. We 've both been here many times and enjoy the food and the staff. This negative review purely is reflective of the manager that was on duty 10/14. I asked my friend if he could bring me back a Thai Tea (theirs is my favorite it is so so good) but with no ice so it wouldn 't melt on his walk back to the office. He asked the waitress if he could order it with no ice, she was very kind btw, and she went to ring it up and the manager, who was in ear shot said if he doesn 't want ice it 's gonna cost him extra. in a very nasty tone. It 's a shame that such a nice, local business wants to try and make an extra buck over ICE. The principle of it is, my friend paid for it regardless, but the nasty attitude was uncalled for. Keep the wonderful food and staff, find a better manager who actually likes to engage with their customers.

I loved the atmosphere, fall decorations where so cute and well done! Food came out fast and was delicious!! Our server was funny and kind. Service: Dine in Meal type: Lunch Price per person: $1–10 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
