Chateau West - Nashville

Risotto was not cooked through. Potatoes in the other dishes were also undercooked.

We had delightful brunch and would highly recommend for a upscale quiet brunch or dinner.

We had a very disappointing experience. Our dinner went downhill quickly. We both ordered French onion soup and it was delicious; same with the bottle of wine. I ordered fondue (it was boring) and my husband ordered the duck (quite the let down). The service really killed it for us. We watched our waiter walk by us 10+ times in at least half an hour without so much as a check in. When we finally got his attention, he said he still saw fondue in my bowl and assumed we were fine, which is ridiculous. My husband said his green beans tasted like frozen green beans from a grocery store, and everything on his plate was woefully underseasoned. Outside of the wine and soup, the food was just so mediocre. Furthermore, the woman at the table next to us was on a FaceTime call and was talking very loudly for at least 10 minutes; hard to believe as closely as you're sat to other tables that the management team wouldn't politely discourage that behavior as it impacts nearby diners. I was excited to finally visit but you won't catch me back.

I love Chateau West and have been going there for years. It's just very high-quality, no-frills, delicious, traditional French dishes. The Beef Bourgignon is a favorite of mine, as well as the Coq-au-vin and the Chateau Filet. A friend said the bouillabaisse was the best she'd ever had anywhere and she's had it all over the world. The beet salad is fantastic and the soups are usually top-notch. The latest was an asparagus soup that was fantastic. The bread is real French bread; warm and crispy. Just love this place.

Chateau West had good food, reasonable prices, a nice relaxing ambiance, friendly waitresses and staff, free parking and a reasonable location from the interstate and surrounding neighborhood. This was a first time dining experience for me and I have already recommended Chateau West to some friends.
