Bidrage med feedbackOur first visit after they reopened. VERY disappointed that they got rid of the kitchen. Their Irish food was amazing! Unfortunately they no longer serve food it’s just an Irish bar. They also downsized the interior into what used to be the Steel City Pops building. The original restaurant space is being turned into a new bar and not open yet. Yes, the patio is bigger, but it’s useless in the 105° Texas heat. We’re sorry to say that we won’t return here if the Irish food isn’t a feature anymore. Sad!
I've been looking for a place that would serve authentic Irish food. And I do believe I found it here. Had the shepherd pie and it was fantastic. Wonderful flavor and very filling. My niece had the triple grilled cheese sandwich. Both of them were delicious. And to make it even better our waitress Sam was fantastic. Very friendly and even laughed at my d jokes. I personally would love to see them branch out and do a family restaurant that is Irish themed. Have a nice menu of some of the dishes you'd expect at an Irish home. When the weather is cooler will have to come back and try the Irish stew. But seriously. I'd love a family restaurant.
We went here before a show at Will Rogers Colliseum.. it was unique and we thought we'd give it a try. It was very slow and the place wasn't crowded however the wait time for food was extremely long... there was a young lady throwing up walking back and forth to the bathroom .. quit serving her alcohol!! The redeeming feature for me was the Gaelic Gourmet, the pimento cheese and jalapeno jelly .. sooo good! The food might draw me back but all the rest would not.
I was an out of towner on the hunt for a quick lunch before I got back on the road. After consulting Google, this place seemed like something potentially different and since it was close, and open on a Sunday, I dropped in. The style was sort of a Texas lake lodge Irish pub mashup in my mind. They had the requisite beer ads and Irish ephemera strewn about, but the whole vibe was slightly off. That 's not bad. It just wasn 't quite what people would guess, I don 't think. Maybe at night it feels more right like BeeGees music?ANYWAY I was there for food. So I decided not to mess around and just ordered the half order fish and chips. After looking over the decor that was screwed to the ceiling for a bit, my plate came. Fish, chips, a small cup of slaw, lemon wedges and tartar sauce. The 'fish ' a 9 inch (at least) strip of battered cod had to be as hot, crispy, flaky and fresh as any pub in Ireland has ever made it. Cutting through, the perfectly fried crispy breading cracked to reveal pearly white, expertly cooked flakes. The first bite was a joyful creamy crunch that tasted like it was hauled out of the sea that day. Not a fishy hint in any bite. Just fresh sea goodness. In Fort Worth, Texas. I don 't know how it 's true, but I 've never had better fish in Hawaii, Bermuda, or anywhere in the USA. From the cripy tail ends to the meaty filet in the middle, it was great. In fact, I hesitated to use any tartar sauce or malt vinegar, and ate nearly all of it naked. It was just that good. Why didn 't I get the full order??The 'chips ' a generous pile of sort of standard square cut potatoes were nicely done, and sprinkled with sea salt and pepper. They weren 't trying to be something special, and so they were. Just the perfect compliment for the fish. Homey and satisfying. A good representation of eons of Irish potatos, I 'm sure. The slaw way too small portion of wonderfully made, not sweet, not cabbagey, not vinegary salad. I couldn 't put my finger on what made it so good, but that it was. The three of four bites left me wanting more. They truly paired beautifully with the meal. The tartar sauce was good, and I didn 't touch the lemons. All in all, this place will go down in my memory banks as a perfect meal. Who knows if I 'll ever be in the area again, but if I am, I know where I 'm having lunch.By the way, I don 't know what you call the guy who makes the food at the local chipper, but I 'm gonna call him chef. Please give him my compliments!
Delicious fish and chips and ice cold beer! Great atmosphere. I will definitely be back!
