People are adorable, excellent service, basic but high quality food for a price that would require you to consider coming back. The atmosphere is so typical if you come around 10 o'clock. However, you are in the south of france, so lunch is at least 1 p.m
We fell on this bar/café by visiting the market covered with narbonnes - the halls. We pulled a stool and were able to immerse ourselves in the atmosphere of the market by browsing the menu. the service was excellent and about ten minutes later, we received two plates filled with the best pins I've ever had. We were able to watch the chef prepare and cook the dishes of the guests, including the steak tartare de brave soul - raw horse meat with a raw egg served on the top!
We ate at a four-mi place for a lunch break in a car from a mound to Toulouse. I enjoyed the horse tartar from ant - not only because eating horse is a finger for my compatriots at home. We have already had many different types of tartars (the strangest being wallaby and alpaca). The horse tartar at the ant was very good. There was a hint of game that made it more interesting than beef or calf, but not so cheerful to make it unpleasant when it was eaten raw. I couldn't try the wine from the house because I was driving (I ended up undergoing a breath test by the police). I didn't expect that at ant's place to have such a good atmosphere and such a good atmosphere! We were there on a Saturday. the restaurant was filled with premises and clearly had a loyal clientele.
The halls in narbonne are worth a visit: large stands of fresh fruit and vegetables, all kinds of food and cans. a good taste of narbonne and the south of france! the most notable is the tradition of small informal restaurants where grilled meat (literally butchers nearby) or fresh oysters can be found. our favorite place is "the ant", a pretty bar-grill and a restaurant belonging to a family of joyful rugby veterans. It is here that you can take a drink, beef pins or a steak tartare (beef or horse), or a beautiful piece of grilled beef. every time we go to ant with our good friend from the corner Jean-Pierre, we spend a good time, it is a good value for money and we appreciate the humor and friendship of michel, thomas and the rest of the charming band. It's just awesome! ps. nice surprise, ant has just started a "satellite antenna" outside the market square (small outdoor terrace) in 2016. To try.
