Pasticceria Bellavita - Napoli

Handed down from one generation to the next in Corso Garibaldi, Pasticceria Bellavita (or Bellavita Srl Bar Pasticceria) is a historic Pastry Shop along one of Naples’ busiest commuter corridors, and frequented mostly by locals it is lining several shelves that guests will find items largely rooted in tradition. More sizable than the average Neapolitan Pasticceria, and recently renovated such that the interior appears modern with comfortable seating, it is from at least sixty Pastries ranging sweet to savory that guests are encouraged to choose beginning at 06h00, some sold by weight but most including a weighty Turnover filled with Pork and Cheese a very good deal. Said to celebrate street food, many locals downing a shot of Espresso and exiting with Cornetti wrapped in a napkin, fans of the Italian’s idea of Croissant will find two sizes to choose from, a large with Apricot Jam pleasing but a bit too moist while specimens filled with Panna and Chocolate-Hazelnut Spread were better. Also enjoying Nutella at the center of a Sandwich Cookie, its Pistachio counterpart equally well-crafted, fans of Poppella’s Fiocco will find Pasticceria Bellavita’s slightly less dainty while their Sfogliatelle comes crisp with plenty of candied Orange making for a particularly tangy center.

Our favorite breakfast place during our visit, Express and sfogliatelle were our favorites here. Friendly staff.
