Either the other reviewers went to another restaurant or the management changed, but that was one of the worst restaurant experiences I had in a long time. We ordered two nets, the artichokes and the “fresh green beans”. I think it was quite audacious to use the adjective 'fresh' for everything we have. The artichoke hearts were obviously made of a can, float in a microwave cream and tango sauce the whole thing was quite unusable. The beans were naturally also reheated in a microwave (as the signature Hot Bits/Cold Bits always shows), soft, soggy and swim in tomato sauce. We also ordered French fries for our children. My five-year-old ate some of these oil-soaked yellow sticks and, as never before happened to him and French Pommes, refused to eat more and said that it felt his stomach weird. We took half a bite to our head and sent them back to the kitchen (only for the context, I think I might have done this once in my life). The waitress was very nice.
I ordered the mixed vegetable plate. The food was delicious and healthy, although it was partly cold (not intentionally). The only downside was that the staff did not speak enough English to understand my request to have it reheated.
Ta Fanaria offers a vegan menu with a variety of options. While I was disappointed that they didn't have the spinach and rice dish the day I visited, I thoroughly enjoyed the dolls and bride dishes. The cut cucumbers I ordered were also delicious. To top it off, we were pleasantly surprised with complimentary watermelons at the end of our meal.
This traditional Greek tavern offers high-quality food at a great value. You will definitely get a generous portion for your money.
