I often consider ordering takeout from here. The chicken is out of this world! I’ve tried this style of chicken at many places throughout East Texas, and in my opinion, this is one of the two best, surpassing any chain restaurants. They also offer a mixed meat plate called Medio Mixto, featuring short ribs, fajita, and sausage, which is just as fantastic as the chicken. I've only encountered this dish at one other place in Houston, but La Braza does it best. Additionally, their pupusas are exceptional – simply the best! Before trying La Braza’s pupusas, I had no idea how delicious they could be. They don't offer much else (aside from some outstanding beans and rice), but they don’t need to. I highly recommend this place!
Stayed on trips and ate here. Was real and good to eat! And no chain gratitude!
Oh my !! I didn't know what to expect from the curbside appearance. But the interior gives a typical taqueria feel. What I believe to be the manager or owner recommended a half or whole chicken with rice, charro beans, grilled onions and corn tortillas. He said everything else would have to be cooked fresh. I understood that to mean that the chicken was precook and may be a town favorite. I accepted his recommendation of the whole chicken. I was very pleased with the charcoal grilled flavor. The rice was moist and the beans were seasoned. It was enough to feed two adults and a child.
I ordered a 15-piece package but received only 8 pieces, and I was still charged for the full amount. What consequences do they face for this? I tried to reach out to them to address the issue, but no one answered my calls; it felt intentional. Why are they treating customers this way?
