American Tap House - Myrtle Beach

The staff at this restaurant are friendly, and the spacious, open atmosphere is fantastic! They share a kitchen with Roosters Restaurant Bar, but the vibe in each place is quite distinct. Roosters has a cozy, mom-and-pop diner feel, while the Tap House has more of a sports bar ambiance with a restaurant setting. The food overall was really enjoyable. However, the portion size for the chips and salsa was a bit small for $12; aside from that, the prices for the other dishes were reasonable. The chips and fish were delicious, and everyone in our group enjoyed their meals.

Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this restaurant, and I typically avoid writing negative reviews. However, we experienced a few issues, and the manager's response was quite disappointing. We returned an undercooked cauliflower appetizer. On the positive side, it's clear they make the batter in-house rather than using frozen products. On the downside, they didn't cook it long enough, resulting in raw batter oozing from the larger pieces. Regrettably, my very hungry teenage boys had already eaten most of the dish before we noticed the problem.

The servers were friendly, and the shrimp was fantastic. However, everything was unclean! The beers arrived in dirty glasses, and the plates for the shrimp were not much better. One plate even had crumbs all over it. We ordered two flights of beers, and the glasses were still dirty; my girlfriend had to wipe off actual lipstick marks from one of them. It's disappointing that cleanliness seems to be a major issue here. Despite that, the beer and shrimp were both delicious.

They had one of the best burgers I've had in a long time! Their Italian cheese curds in marinara was so delicious I thought about ordering another one for my meal. Their service was OUTSTANDING! Kate our server made us feel like we were VIP's! She was exceptionally charming! Her prompt customer service on top of everything else made this whole experience one of my top 5 dinners I've been to.

The food was very good. We had burgers and the chicken sandwich to go. They were all good. Fries were good too. Decor was nice. Beer was reasonable and good selection. I would definitely recommend this place.
