The Carolina Tavern In Murrells Inlet

About 2 years ago my sister and brother-in-law told us about this place, and our whole family goes each year when down for vacation. We returned last week one night for dinner, and as always, we were immediately seated, and had an awesome meal that everyone enjoyed, served by an awesome server named Mary Beth. We love the casual, laid back atmosphere, where we can talk, laugh, relax, and enjoy great food. Mary Beth laughed and joked along with us, as if we’d known one another for years. We promised we’d post a review of our experience in the restaurant, and with her as our server. We look forward to our next experience and meal there the next time we’re visiting Myrtle Beach!

This place is awesome, came on a Sunday to watch the games and everything was perfect

Horribly rude male and female bartenders at night. The female daytime bartender is great, she is super helpful and has never been rude to me for pickup orders. Night time don't even ask you what you're there for or what they can help you with they just start bitching about everything when you finally ask them for help. I unassigned the order and was followed out being yelled at after already standing there for 10 minutes not getting helped and not getting any answers after I even asked. Horrible and repulsive way to treat people!

Food was a little pricey but still pretty decent. I had two different waitresses during our dinner which was only like 30 minutes. I was with my daughter and the second waitress asked if we wanted separate checks like we were on a date or something. I'm not sure if I should be flattered that the waitress thinks I look 25 years younger than I am or frightened that there's a lot of middle-aged men that date teenagers down there . Anyway, the Philly Style Flat was awesome tho.

Disappointed that although they have a military discount, it's only off the veterans meal not our family/ check. That's literally the only place we've had that happen. So it was a whopping $1.50 off of our $70 check. Wasn't even enough to cover the credit card processing charge. Edited to add in reply to response... we only frequent local, non chain, small businesses. Again, your establishment is the only one that handles this way. It would be less of a slap in the face to not bother offering a discount vs 1.50 which was 2% of the spend. . Just my opinion. The food service was decent.
