After seeing The Hamery highlighted on Southern Accents, I decided to stop by on my way back to Florida, and I’m so glad I did. I bought some Angel Biscuits, sliced ham, and bacon, along with a jar of chow chow. The biscuits were incredibly tender, and the ham was thinly sliced and delicious. If I were a local hostess, I would definitely include these on my menus. The bacon was the best I’ve had since my great-grandfather’s farm in the delta region of Arkansas—truly a delight!

Renowned for their authentic Southern cured hams, this small-town business specializes in a variety of smoked products, biscuits, and more. They've been serving the community since the late 1960s. I discovered them at the Murfreesboro farmer's market, where I picked up some bacon made with just pepper and salt—no nitrites, nitrates, or MSG. I cooked it that very night, and it was fantastic! I didn't miss the preservatives at all! If you're not familiar with Southern cured ham, you're truly missing out. They prepare it the traditional way, and I've heard there are only a few places in the South still doing it this way. I'm thrilled to support a local small business!

If this were my business, I would be more careful about charging customers' cards. They seemed to treat this as a minor issue, but I can't help but wonder how many other customers have been overcharged without noticing. Additionally, I would certainly consider my customers' time and experiences if they raised a concern about an overcharge. The person I spoke with had a rather dismissive attitude, as if he was confident he was correct in everything he said. Instead of getting into an argument, I just decided to leave this negative review for others to see. I will continue to support local businesses, but not this one. And I urge others to be cautious when using their cards at the market, especially at the Hammery!

I called the day before and picked up two packages of their biscuits and thinly sliced country ham. It was exceptional! My guests kept asking where I got them. Some friends from Franklin are coming over to get their own delicious supply! Food: 5/5
