Café Knebel Café - Munderkingen

On the Eurovelo 6 the popular Cafe Knebel made for a handy breakfast stop you can sit outside and watch the world go by.

The Café Knebel in Munderkingen is located diagonally across the street from the city hall Rathaus) in the center of town, just a few steps away from the banks of the River Danube Donau). It is also a hotel. We had ice cream here and it was really good. They offer a wide range of cake and chocolate pralines. For bicycle tourists Radwanderer): Special feature is a charging station for E-bikes “Elektro-Tankstelle” in German). They also have a room where you can lock-in bicycles in case you stay at the hotel. Basic bicycle spare parts are available for guests as well as information about tours and booking somewhere else for the following nights. The building itself is very interesting: Firstly, it is a very beautiful half-timbered house. Secondly, it was made smaller many years ago, but on the ground level only, to make the road wider and to create an arcade to give pedestrians a safe passage when walking to/along the café.

Stopped here for ice cream whilst cycling the Danube. Nice selection and at a very reasonable price.
