On the way to the south to a short holiday in the south via the Brenner motorway we made a stopover near Sterzing Maria Trens in Italy, to dinner at the Romantik Hotel Stafler in Mauls. The village of Mauls has quite little to offer, you can only see here left and right a few houses and is then actually out of the place again. But this restaurant has it in itself, on the one hand, the rather high-priced design of the menu and drink card, but also due to its excellent cuisine. The restaurant Stafler in Mauls has been directly approached on a personal recommendation and has not been disappointed. From the outside, the restaurant and hotel make a very well-maintained, neat, extravagant impression, which is reflected by the complete complex, incl. entrance area, restaurant, sanitary facilities perfected in a straight line. We had not reserved, we still got a pretty place with bench and seating near the window. What seemed relatively new to us was the fact that here the evening meal starts only at 19:00 and this is already at 21:00. In the restaurant Einhorn there is no conventional map, as we know in the country. Here you can choose from 3 4 menus and from the individual menus you can choose from 4 10 individual courses depending on hunger and price range. For example, the Chef Cuisine cost menu with 10 individual courses approx. 150,00 €. The unicorn menu with 4 courses is around € 80,00. Holla will now give it to one or the other; it is already right, here you eat and drink not to two for 30 40 € as in Frankenland. But even in the Frankfurt area or in Munich, we do not think that you will be able to get under €50.00 per person in a good restaurant. The restaurant Einhorn, for example, has 3 hoods and 17 Gault Millau points. We are not an exquisite connoisseurs who are exclusively in such extravagant restaurants, and this is also normally not our price class, but it is probably DAS Restaurant badhin. A short search for the Einhorn restaurant in Mauls revealed that a gourmet has tried out all possible 3 hood restaurants in recent years with 3 hoods and came to the conclusion that the restaurant Einhorn was the secret tip and he would put it on place 1 from all the restaurants visited. We chose an 8 course menu. It is very difficult to describe, but the individual tastes imagined themselves on the tongue, each spice, a hint of cinnamon, then a short sharp taste that was also immediately gone, followed by a sweetness, a taste of the rustic and finalized by a taste of new. Once it was a Dry Aged Rind, sometimes extraordinary vegetables such as black roots or simply spices, which are rural, but can be found on almost no menu. Fruity notes, Piment, Cinnamon, Chocolate, Red Pepper, Lime, Muscat....a trip through the fruits, vegetables and spices, fantastic, simply super delicious. We kept talking in the quite quiet restaurant scenery over and over again, after what this tastes all. It was and actually I am rather dry and self-critical with my reviews perfect and tasted excellent. A gear with fish, a gear with meat, then some vegetables, various dips and sauces, a crisper....here, an elongate something...here, always excellent service, but this is probably so easily intrusive in these chic establishment, which is certainly desired with the largely willing paying clientele, you would not otherwise do it. With a choice of 4 10 gears, a normal eater is also fed. In order to leave the restaurant with a smile, I recommend the payment with the credit card: I usually smile at such reviews, which usually find only good reviews for such €€€ homes, why always! You must always justify yourself positively, even if it has not tasted. : But here I can't say it differently it was just perfect! As if you had hired us with a previous personal portfolio or a personal audit. Serving super, drinks well tempered, a sheer endless selection of wines from sweet to dry, all vintages high and down, the dishes super tasty and every image a work of art.
