After having the spontaneous idea to go for brunch on a sunday morning and a long online research we decided to try the brunch buffet at Tassilogarten, though 17.50 € for brunch including a glass of champagne or orange juice seemed a little pricy but I guess we still need some getting used to the prices in Munich. Nevertheless, after arriving we didn't regret our decision. Brunch is served until 3 pm, it wasn't empty but it was also not hard to find a comfortable table with enough privacy you need for a sunday morning brunch. The selection at the buffet was wide, from cereals, jogurt, wurst, cheese and salmon over fruits, vegetables and anti pasti to scrambled eggs, chicken and pasta with a nice selection of Semmeln and Brezeln it offered everything you'd expect for brunch and there was still enough available of everything. One point of critique would be though, that the Maracujaschorle was a little watery, but the cappuccino was very tasty. They have a little garden outside where I can imagine it would be lovely to sit when the weather is warm and sunny.

A very ordinary Brunch for a below average service ! The Sunday brunch (over)priced at €24,50 , offers a glass of Prosecco , a selection of antipasti, cheese and cold cuts. Breads , cornflakes and marmalades in addition to warm Eggs (sunny side, scrambled) , baked beans (luke warm and straight out of the can) and the famous Bavarian Weiss wurst . The second course offered a variety of salads, pasta with Bolognese , szegediner Gulasch and spätzle with a cream based chicken mushroom gravy. The desert buffet consisted of a meagre strawberry yoghurt and vanilla Quark. The restaurant was quite full on this particular Sunday and we chose to sit outside in the Biergarten since the weather was quite pleasant. A nice biergarten ambience all in all, but that was the only positive highlight of our brunch experience! Despite being ordered , the complimentary Prosecco never arrived ,neither did the additionally ordered coffee. On enquiring at the counter 45 mins later, we were told that they had some technical error and the coffee although charged on our table was never delivered. The lines for food was very long and by the time we reached the buffet the serving plates were empty. The refilling was at a very sluggish pace and the waiters seemed to me as lost as my coffee ordered an hour ago . The three warm lunch items offered tasted uninspiring bland and lacked flavor and character. Did I mention that the service was miserable? After waiting for over 90 mins for our drinks and the food we finally decided to end our ordeal and walked up to the bar and requested for our tab. I don 't see myself visiting this place ever again, especially since I know that my next gas station offers better cappuccino and warm croissants for a fraction of that price with a friendly smile . A typical case of munich eateries living up to their over hyped and over priced reputation.
