Bidrage med feedbackWe have visited this restaurant on the 6. of January this year after spending few hours with the kids, sledding on the nearby hills of The Aubinger Lohe. I guess it was pretty busy day as it was a public holiday in Bavaria, but even though i cannot excuse the treatment we received on that day. All started when we tried to enter the restaurant seems all tables were booked out and the waiter told me we cannot stay and shall come later. After some 10 min a friend of us entered again and was told that there is one reservation for which the people were supposed to come 10min ago and if we wait for some 10min more and no one comes we can have the table. Unfortunately the people came and we thought to leave when we finally got a green light to enter. The first reaction was that we are too many and they expected only 3 of us we were 3 families with 4 kids all together. However we were fitting on that table and decided to stay. The guy let us know that we are too many and the place is too full and it will take long. As there are no other options in the area and the recommendations on internet were to go definitely back to this restaurant after the fun on the snowy slopes we decided to stay. So after some 10 15min we ordered the drinks and the food and started chatting about life. Some 20min after the waiter came and told me if i would like to have beef instead of chicken in the salad, because chicken has just finished. I agreed and we continued waiting. After another 15min he came again and asked me if also cheese would be fine, because also the beef was sold out i had to laugh as it was just not mores than 2,5 hours since the restaurant has opened and already the 3rd time in a row that i had to change the order as the wished one was not available. Anyway we continued waiting and when 1 hour after we have given the orders and the kids started to go mad because of hunger we decided to ask what is happening with the french fries we 've ordered for them. The answer from the cook in the kitchen was ... i do not have any french fries on my list imagine the face of all of us and our kids after having ordered immediately for them to keep the waiting time short. Nothing was helping anymore they were starving and really in a bad mood, like all of us. Finally the fries came only 3 portions...for 4 kids, unbelievable, but was the disgusting reality. Frustration was full we had the late lunch almost 1,5 after ordering it at least what was left in the poor kitchen of this sad place. The food was ok, but after all the suffering and the frustration we were so irritated and destroyed that we just wanted to leave. And i swear i would never ever go there again. This was the most unprepared place that offers food i have ever seen in my life. Without exaggeration i would even use the word amateurs . On a public holiday during school holidays not to be in the position to offer french fries for 4 kids and ask them wait for 1 hour is really unacceptable. At least we had to pay only 3 of them after asking to reduce the number on the bill The only advice i can give stay away, especially if you are really hungry like we were!!!
The name would indicate anything but a restaurant inspired by new Austrian cuisine. The fare is rather Southern German with an Austrian touch. The restaurant adheres to the slow food concept. Decoration is traditional with modern elements which gives the entire place a nice atmosphere. Portions are sizeable. There is a short menue which changes daily. Here, the cook seems to experiment a bit. The rest of the small menue is more traditional fare with a twist. We enjoyed a traditional dish and one from the daily menue which was makrel (or rather Butterfish) an was well made. The böflamode has a nice whisky sausse was very good. We would have loved to go for desserts as the Kaiserschmarrn looked fantastic but the kitchen closes at 9.30 pm, so we would have to come back for dessert. It was by far the best food in the vicinity
Stopped in here having hiked through the Aubinger Lohe with my wife. A holiday weekend. The beergarden was not too full. Wonderful friendly young waitresses. Small menu. Cooking here is done according to slowfood.de principles. That means the provenance is local, high quality and cooked as ordered. We had Maultaschen and Spätzle. Superbly prepared with a side serving of excellent homemade brown bread and a mixed herb salad in a mouthwatering sauce. So delicious I can even now taste it. Chocolate cake with wild berries for dessert. Yummylacious. The beer was a local Rauber Kneissl brew called Odin Trunk. Tasty but very strong at 5.4%. The organic lemonade was well tasty. Contrary to some of what has been written elsewhere on this forum, I found everything to be very satisfactory; friendy helpful service, ambient atmosphere, framed collection of old razor blades in the clean gents, lovely beergarden with mature trees, very reasonable prices and quality pabulum. I can recommend this place fully.
The food is an absolute pleasure. Far and wide there is no better kitchen. Freshly cooked without using finished additives. Sometimes it takes a little longer until the food is on the table. But it's worth it.
Very good homemade dishes, nice service. I can highly recommend. Good food is not really cheap that must be clear.
