The Main Event - Mountain View

I give this restaurant two stars because of their frozen burgers. The quality of the meat was terrible. The portions were too small for the price, and the drink policy is outrageous—they only allow one refill! Who does that? Haha. The service was decent but not memorable. We tried a frozen margarita, and honestly, it was awful and poorly made. I'm not sure where the bartender learned their skills, but it seems they never received any proper training. The drinks were bad, and the burgers were even worse. I won't be coming back! The new ownership and updated menu have really ruined this place.

The restaurant features both a dining area and a bar. My wife really appreciated the vintage ambiance of the bar. Although the menu might seem somewhat limited, our friends ordered the catfish and seafood platters, and they both raved about them. The portion sizes were generous, and they provided plenty of to-go boxes. It’s definitely worth the drive and the time!

We've been trying this place on and off for over a year, but it hasn't improved under the new ownership. It's a bar, yet we can never manage to get a glass of chardonnay. The food is decent, but not exceptional, and it's overpriced, especially given the current rise in prices. The staff changes frequently, and none of them seem to have any experience or training for the job.

The delightful and delicious chocolate cheesecake is no longer available at The Main Event, which is disappointing. It was so popular that people would come just to take it home. See the attached picture for a reminder of how good it was! Additionally, there's been a change in ownership. Currently, no alcohol is being served with meals or at the bar as they are still waiting for their liquor license. The food and service were average. I recommend calling ahead to check if they have obtained their liquor license since April 2022, especially if you want to enjoy wine with your meal or see if the bar has reopened.
