The Sir Edmund Hillary Cafe

Ate here while staying in the motel it’s joined to. No fuss food with great views across the entire windowed wall. Chicken burger was huge and very good. The place was very busy. Maybe a little pricey but there aren’t really many options in the Mount cook village.

We had the beer salad and chicken pizza, both were delicious. The views were also a wonderful touch! They had vegan and gluten free options.

The place is fine. The food is tasty, but some of the dishes portions are rather small for its price. For example, the salmon and the lemon tart desert. The views are amazing.

:: The view is magnificent but the food is just ok :: The hermitage was partly under renovation so the guests had to eat breakfast and dinner here. The view outside restaurant looking out to the Mt. Cook from the large windows was breathtaking. However, the food was not that good so I hope the restaurant will improve so I would give 5 star next time.

Really good food, stunning view. But it took almost an hour to get my burger! That’s kind of crazy.
