Mattucci's Willow Cafe - Mount Carmel

It's horrible. The food is underground. The onions in the soup were still raw and that was the case for 3 people who ordered this soup. The pizza had ketchup on it instead of pizza sauce. The chicken parmesan was still frozen and the pasta was cold. The kitchen staff is unable to cook or use a microwave. The service staff is not able to count the people at the table because we had to point out to the waitress twice that there was not enough cutlery on the table. The restaurant should either hire new staff or close completely.

Growing up in a nearby town, we frequented Mattucci's a lot over the years. We could always count on the consistency; the service was always great and the food even better. Clearly things have changed though. The newly remodeled bar and dining are nice enough I suppose, but the bar area as we all knew it has lost all of the charm it once possessed. Two in my party ordered a cosmo, and the bartender or whomever mixed them, didn't know how to make them. The old bartender, whose name escapes me, is no longer there apparently. A complete waste of that money. They should have been embarrassed to bring them to our table. Food was incredibly average. The table bread that we used to know no longer exists, and the house salads were tiny. Their chicken parmesan used to be stellar now, you can get comparable food at Olive Garden. Our other two entrees were hot and edible, so it wasn't a total loss. Our server was super nice and attentive, but clearly overwhelmed. If you're going to Mattucci's to relive the old days and enjoy the same great dishes, sadly you'll find that they are long gone. Can't say we'll be back. And that saddens me.

Absolutely no complaints about the food and it was absolutely delicious (likely some of the best food I personally have had in that area, but we waited in excess of 1 hour to get our food, including any of our appetizers. Our waitress was sympathetic to the situation, but we had members in our party that needed to eat by a certain time. Had we known the wait was going to be as long as it was, we would have gone elsewhere. Note: Two of the meals were for grilled cheese. In short, we won't be returning.
