Bidrage med feedbackThe Reggae wine festival was a cute vibe with the band. I enjoyed my time outdoors, but I'm not sure if the entry fee is worth it. GLOWS: -Parking was well organized. I was able to park and get out without much congestion -The reggae music was pretty good. I enjoyed the DJ over the music -you can bring in food, food warmers, and non alcoholic drinks. GROWS: -Not much difference between the DD entry fee and the fee for those drinking TIP: Get there early when doors open to get the best spot in the tent or chair area.
Table service not recommended! My group of 4 mistakenly sat at a table directly outside the wine tasting building. We were told we could stay at the table but it would require we get table service for $10 a person. We agreed without thinking about it big mistake. Here table service means delayed wine, a small carafe of water that 's never refilled, no clearing of the table, and feeling taken advantage of. It took a while to even get menus. The menu does not list the flight option so we had to ask. The menu offers no description of the wines, nor did our severs. We each ordered a flight, which took a long time to get to us. It would have been much faster to go inside. The servers were not attentive. One of us went inside to get a bottle to open for the table which took less than 30 seconds. The kicker is that when the servers brought the check. My friend gave them her credit card and she was somewhat aggressively asked what the tip would be. They do not practice the typical model of leaving the check to be signed with the tip noted like most places. No tip was deserved but they got one because my friend is a kind person and it was an awkward situation. Save yourself money and time by skipping table service . The stars are for the beauty of the winery, the option to also try beer, and the extensive wine options.
This summer, I was invited to a birthday celebration at Linganore Winecellars. I was super excited because I have friends and family that have been here for music and wine festivals. First things first, this winery is FAR from me, an hour and 15 minutes whew. My friend had a 2 hour reservation for her birthday, we sat outside on the patio, nice scenery. This winery is family and dog friendly lots of families with dogs and young children were out this day. From the patio as we looked out onto the greenery there were wooden benches available for folks to sit at and three food trucks. You can bring your own food and chairs just no outside alcohol. The tasting was cool, we ordered from the menu with tons of options. Each tasting consisted of three wines. I'm used to having a sommelier available to give details on the wine notes, but this was a self serve tasting. The wine comes out and you read the notes. All in all, I had a great time but I'm not sure if I'll be back because it's so far (not Linganore's fault)
This was such a lovely place to spend a Friday evening. We got there around 4:30 and it wasn't crowded at all. There were many options of cute places to sit and I think we explored most of them throughout the evening. Started on the patio, then inside at the bar, then on the lawn, and then under the string lights on the side patio. There was a diverse selection of wine- everything from super sweet to dry. Our wait staff was very kind and knowledgeable. He taught me a lot of new things about wine. The prices felt reasonable. Our tastings for 8 wines were 17-20 dollars a piece and the bottles expectedly had a large range in prices about $10-80. We got delicious tacos at the food truck and enjoyed live music on the lawn. There was plenty of seating and tons of space for kids and dogs to play. There is even a cute brewery on the same lot, so it would make for a great place for larger groups to hang out even if some prefer beer over wine.
I've came here over the years and it is still such a lovely time with every visit. Most recently, I came here for a wine tasting with a friend. We were able to do a walk in on the patio during the weekdays, although they do have reservations you can easily make online if you prefer. The staff is very friendly and informative about the wines and their backgrounds. The grounds are beautiful and spacious, with a lot of tables for seating and open grass to lay out on. They do have a brewery in case you're with friends that prefer beer, which I would love to try out one day. All in all, I've always left here with a bottle!
