Tasca Da Esquina - Moscavide

Great food, lovely service. Loved the creativity of the dishes we shared, left stuffed and very, very happy. Worth the small trek (okay, a cab ride) from the center of the city where we were staying.

Me and my partner came to this restaurant at the recommendation of our AirBnB host. It is a small restaurant a short walk from the Basilica da Estrela. We were brought olives and a bread without asking which was put on our table, and surprised...to find that we were later individually charged for this. My partner went for their four course taster menu which he enjoyed. I felt the menu lacked some choice and personally not keen on taster menus as the portions are always very small and a bit too experimental for my liking. I settled on some scrambled eggs which were nice and some steak as they had run out of black sausage and apple. The desserts were good. We found this quite expensive at almost a hundred euros and I did not have any wine or alcohol but the quality of the food was good. It would have been nice if they did not dump bread and olives on the table and then charge us after as we thought this was a bit cheeky. Staff were nice. Would recommend but be warned it is not cheap!
