The Royal - Mornington

We live locally and this hotel has been a favourite. It has experienced changes in management and style, not all positive, but now we like it again. Stylish decor, small but excellent menu and one of Mornington’s best example of 19th century architectural grandeur.

The food is always good at the Royal. A dependable favourite. Quick service, maybe too quick sometimes but always excellent food. Staff are always friendly.

Service was very ordinary. Food was well cooked however quite overpriced for a pub meal

This place doesn’t have table service ...guests need to go to the bar to make order. Very small dish for 34 dollars, very casual, not cheap, only good for parma lovers and beer .. we come usually to this place in summer to get a glass of wine , sit outside, enjoy beautiful view. Can be extremely noisy in summer, particularly on weekends.not best for food.

You order and pay at the bar and the menu offers a good range of choices without being too many. All the meals were good with generous portions ranging from the fish and chips to the curry to the grilled salmon. Any pub that can do a good curry is great sign that those in the kitchen know what they are doing.
