Smoke Meat Pete - Montréal

My smoked Chicken was very nice but it did not arrive until 30 minutes after everyone else in our party had been served. I was given a free beer on the house which made up for the late meal. It was hard to talk over the loud music so we all went to the annex where we could hear each other.

On our way back to Toronto, we decided to stop at this place and I had a craving for a burger. Let me tell you, I got the best burger of my life! The meat was mouthwatering and the atmosphere was amazing. It was truly the best smoked meat I have ever had.

This restaurant is not good at all. It doesn't come close in quality to Schwartz or George's. The prices are outrageous, with a small bag of fries costing $5.45. It's insane. They charge almost $10 more per pound for hot lean over cold medium.

I had to wait too long for a basic sandwich, and when it finally arrived, the fries were cold. I decided to leave the restaurant without eating and told them to keep the entire meal. I will not be returning to this place.

We’ve heard of Smoke Meat Pete’s for quite some time but never ate here until last weekend for lunch. It was a great experience. Very cool atmosphere. And I’m sure the live Jazz band at night adds greatly to the eating adventure. But as the prices are likely the same for lunch as they are for dinner. That is VERY high I just don’t thing it’s worth it to eat there for lunch. Go only when they have jazz at night to at least get extra out of the trip. You are paying for that entertainment, you might as well get to see it!
