Bidrage med feedbackI lived in MTL for a few years. About years ago I took my boyfriend here after taking some holidays here, thinking it would be just as I remembered it. When I lived here, I would take friends, family, clients and co-workers here for...dinner and it was perfect. It has since moved from Rue St Denis, and is on Rue Crescent. The owner was standing around staring, the server was lovely, but didn't offer us drinks (we didn't being wine/beer) but not even a Coke? The bread came when the appetizer was completed. The restaurant is dirty as all hell and dead bugs and dirt were in the window sill, making me lose my appetite. My gluten free boxed pasta (elbows) was so ver cooked and in an Alfredo soup. My boyfriend loved his meal, so that was great because I was absolutely humiliated for bragging about how amazing this place is, how cool it was, great atmosphere, staff, food, cleanliness etc. I was so let down, my stomach was in knots. I could barely eat. Not what I remember and will never go back unless it's to another location. I do not reccomend L'academie on Crescent in Montreal AT ALL. EVER. Please find another restaurant. Trust me.
We had a lovely evening, service was excellent, prompt, attentive and with a smile. Facility was comfortable, washrooms were impeccable. However, the menu that is online is NOT the same as in the restaurant. There is NO all-you-can-eat mussels at this location, which, had we...known, would have changed our decision to go there. The pound portion looks large, but mussels are mostly shells, so this was disappointing. Our appetizer of escargot tasted good, but tiny snails swimming in a lot of butter was NOT worth the price. My pasta dish of pennes with prosciutto and pepper in a rosé sauce was totally delicious. The desserts were good also. A nice value as this is BYOB, but definitely NOT an outstanding restaurant. There are many that are far better in Montreal, and since we only come about once every years, this was a disappointment for sure.
Very good service. Food was tasty. All the guests were served at the same time. Pleasant and helpful servers
We went there for a small team Christmas dinner on a Thursday night, around dinner time. I heard great things about L’Academie, so my expectations were a little high. out of the meals were enjoyed by us. The good: my veal parmigiana was...good and it was a good chunk of meat. Seating was comfortable. Waiter was friendly and good. Lots of choices on the menu. If you love seafood, you are in heaven. Desert was really good. The bad: my colleague’s lasagna was actually a soup. Lots of seafood, but for a non seafood lover like me, it really limits my choices. Bathrooms could be much cleaner. Place was surprisingly empty. Dishes are pricey, so bring your wallet. In the end, l was dissapointed from my experience at this place, but l enjoyed my plate.
A good venue for a leisurly lunch. Bring your own wine. If you have forgotten there is a depanneur next door and you can get a bottle at the last minute. The food is comfort food, well presented, tasty and the price is very reasonable....You get value for money.
