Patisserie Gascogne - Montréal

I have found my new favorite cake spot! I am so happy to have discovered this place near my office where I can treat myself even more.

I want to clarify from the beginning that my review is focused on their performance as a coffee shop, rather than their baked goods.

This restaurant is average - not exceptional, but not terrible either. Just okay.

This place was recommended to me by a friend. For breakfast I had a decaf latte and a chocolate almond croissant which were to die for! On my way back home to Ottawa, I stopped to buy the Tarte de Provence, which is a savoury vegetarian pie made with a béchamel sauce, caramelized onions and zucchini and covered with sliced tomatoes and spices in a beautiful flaky crust. When I got home, I heated it up and my daughters and sister thought they had died and went to heaven. It is that good! I highly recommend this place. Oh yes, I also bought some chocolates which were divine! Yum!

On our way to Jean Talon market, we stopped by Gascogne and had Irish cream latte and cinnamon cappuccino along with multi red fruit danish and chestnut buche de Noel.
