On y retournera à coup sûr.
Tried this Peruvian little gem for the first time and I was impressed. The sea food melange was delicious with a sublime sauce spiced up just right. The side Potato pure infused with lemon was incredible... table d'hôte had entrees each served in trios (each one a delicious little teaser) The Pisco Cocktail is a must ! Pisco itself is The Peruvian version of Grappa. If you're Italian like me you will know what I am talking about. Go try it and see for yourself. Bon appetite!
Let me start by saying that I'm mostly a steak, seafood, pasta kind of guy and I rarely go outside my comfort zone. So the thought of going to a Peruvian restaurant was a huge leap for me. But, was traveling with 2 friends and they wanted to try it. So glad they did!! What an outstanding meal!! The decor is perfection. Interesting art on the walls, Peruvian sculptures, masks, etc. There was even a video in the bathroom that talked about Peruvian culture. I looked at the review titled "a restaurant in decline" and if last night's meal was "in decline" than the place must have been an experience fit for a king previously!! I ordered a dirty martini and my friends ordered one of their specialty drinks. The waiter told me they only had Peruvian black olives, but they'd be happy to try making a dirty martini with those. Well, I think they've created something that should be a bar staple!! The color of the olive juice tinted the vodka reddish and the black olive just added an awesome twist to a regular dirty martini. We also received olives at our table as a starter. Of course, we had to try cervichie to start. WOW! It was amazing. Chocked with scallops, oysters, clams, octopus and other white fish. The sauce was outstanding. I had a trio of oysters to start with...a definite must! I ordered the blacken shrimp for my entree which was outstanding. 3 HUGE shrimp accompanied with wonderful sides (I don't recall what any of that was). One of my friends had the seared scallops. The presentation was outstanding. Rice came stacked like a pyramid! We passed on desert because we were all stuffed. It's a bit on the expensive side although not overpriced compared to other Montreal restaurants. For the 3 of us it came to $180 before tip. That compared to a mediocre meal at a steak house in Old Town the night before that was $240 for 3. The staff was very attentive. We had 2 servers attending to us. Oh, and the bartender could have been Lady GaGa's twin sister!! A definite 10 and our best meal on this trip to Montreal.
Le service est excellent. C'est un petit restaurant où les plats sont exquis! Les coupes et cuissons des viandes étaient excellentes. Je le recommande fortement pour des plats à saveur du Pérou.
