Melk Café Monkland - Montréal

My Aunt and I stopped in, to try something new. The place was popping.I ordered a pigeon special (which was really tasty) with waffle fries. Which were served luke warm to cold. My Aunt ordered a simple breakfast: poached egg, with toast and potatoes. We also got a ceaser and a mimosa.We were given water, a hair was in one of the glasses. And then we had a hair in our potatoes.No one did any food checks. No one asked if we wanted another cocktail. No one did basically anything really. Super disappointed in the staff.So here's my question, we live in a tipping culture. Which obviously stems from management not wanting to tip their staff accordingly. But where do we draw the line on tipping for tippings sake and tipping because people have worked for it and have gone above and beyond and actually deserve a tip?90-100$ for lunch, for 2!!! That's insane. Probably won't be back.

Excellent fries and fun drinks. The location is cute and has great seating. However, the food isn’t memorable. Simple pasta, small portions.Vegetarian options: Lacking vegetarian options on the dinner menu

I loved the food. I got chicken Parmesan and it was divine.Service was good, but I would have appreciated them checking in on how I was doing more often, I had to get their attention four times for what I wanted.It's a gorgeous cozy place that I wish I could have stayed in longer. Will definitely revisit. Fairy lights on the ceiling, plants everywhere and trees in the center! Trees!! And it was so clean and neat, absolutely gorgeous.

Im a loyalty client almost 4 years...It was terrible service that time,almost one hour we were waiting for menu to have a breakfast.The food is great and delicious but service...We left without cofee ...Im dissapointed

One of my favorite cafés to hang out at. Coffee is amazing! Love that it's next to a cute bookstore too. Only challenge is finding a seat because it can get crowded very quickly. Note: Good breakfast options, but no real meals.
