La Cage Brasserie Sportive - Montréal

I always love it here, I feel so joyful and happy whenever I visit. Just give it a try!

Ordered ribs and after a 20 minute wait we were told they didn't have enough for 2 people. We needed to share a rack between 2 big guys. 1/2 a rack each. I ordered the chicken so my friend could enjoy his meal and I left it on my plate it was dry and tasteless! Service was good. Poor waitress has to deal with inadequate food quality and quantity. Thank goodness the free popcorn and expensive beer were good.

We made a large reservation for 35 and 6 of us showed up an hour early to grab a beer. The Server took 10 minutes to greet us and when we asked her for a recommendation for red wine she suggested Chardonnay, lol. She then took 15 minutes to deliver the drinks. The restaurant was not very busy and she seemed to be unorganized focusing on one order and table at a time. When our reservation arrived we were crammed into a small space where it was very difficult to get in and out of. we ordered chicken natchos and I think they forgot or were low on cheese. The chicken was presented on top and not cut in pieces so we did that ourselves. Some orders were forgotten and it took quite a while to get our bills. Not a place I would recommend for a large group.

I am an avid UFC fan. As far as sports bars go, Cage is the best chain in Montreal. There may be better spots, but I don't know of them. The food is ok. Price of drinks is decent. But the pull is really all the TVs and the ability to make reservations to ensure you have a seat.

When we arrived at the restaurant, the waitress did not bring us any water. After waiting 20 minutes to order, she informed us that the ribs would not be ready for another hour. Despite changing our order, we still waited over an hour for our meals, and the restaurant was empty. There was no excuse for such poor service. I will definitely not be returning. As a small gesture for making our children wait so long to eat, she took $5 off our bill, but that was hardly enough to make up for the experience.
