Bidrage med feedbackThe food, atmosphere, and service at this restaurant were all excellent. Their mussels are especially delicious, and my husband really enjoyed his burger and fries.
What kind of authentic brasserie only serves red meat dishes with narrow-bowled white wine glasses? A true brasserie should offer bread automatically, and when it arrives, the butter should be soft. This place needs improvement to meet Montreal's high standards.
Brasserie St Denis reinvented itself as the most Quebecois of European brasseries really an upper scale restaurant. A young innovative chef in the person of Etienne Demers is cranking out some great culinary creations made with 'produits du terroir ', local Quebec ingredients. We had a great meal. Appertizers a delicious beef tartare with a few pieces of smoked herring and preserved carrots, and a to die for chicken liver mousse with prunes and mustard. The main was an inspired cod fillet served on a bed of eggplant, covered with grilled zucchini and a smoked yougurt sauce. Out of this world desert of strawberry panacotta and a financier with caramel cream and chocolate ganache. A white Okanagan Valley white nicely complemented the meal. The place always looked terrific, and looks even better now.Service was wonderful all in all a great experience.
All you can eat mussels, Monday to Wednesday. DID YOU HEAR ME? They have about 20 options of flavours (most with dairy, though). I had the Provencal style (I think) and they were cooked perfectly and quite good. The Hubster the lamb burger with frites. He enjoyed it very much and I enjoyed his fries very much. He had ordered it as part of the Tuesday trio special: burger, beer and one side for a set price. The service was very friendly, particularly since the staff at the time was limited in English and our French is about the same. We still got through to each other pretty easily. It's a beautiful restaurant with cozy banquettes and a TV above the bar where your husband can glance over at during dinner. I'd visit here again.
Went for the all you can eat mussels and they were wonderful. Had beer tastings and a few beers as well and thought the oricing on the beers were way too pricey. The service could have been way better: no one ever asked if we wanted water, we were passed several times by our waitress without her checking if our plates of mussels were done or wanted a refill on fries or salad. We waited 10 minutes for the check after we asked for it..Everything seems to be set up eletronically but we received a confirmation of a reservation we made at 3pm at 11:30 and 1 minute after we received a thank you for coming text. So I think they need to work on the automaton part of things as well as service.
