Bidrage med feedbackAbsolutely the most fluffy, tenderest pastries, just excellent! Didn't try the bread, but it was nice and fragrant.
Oh, boy, where do I begin? Make sure to arrive early, wait in line if necessary, and order a little more than you think you should. We enjoyed a croissant right outside the door, sitting at a table they provided since there was no indoor seating available as it got colder. You can also get coffee from a nearby shop to go with these delicious pastries. We tried a ginger cookie for $2.35 (I recommend sticking to the cookies and splurging on their bread, croissants, or quiche instead). The cookie was tasty, but compared to the other items we tried, it didn't stand out. I would definitely go back for the bread - it was light, fluffy, crispy, and only $1.75. I believe they use rice flour in it, and it's a must-try! We also got another pastry, a seasonal one with apples that was perfect for autumn. The bread we tried was only available on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays - the Khorasan Blueberries candied ginger for $5.50. Made from organic khorasan flour, water, sea salt, yeast, blueberries, and candied ginger, it was delicious when paired with slightly salted butter at home. The quiche was creamy, thick, and cheesy without being overwhelming. The staff member who helped us with our order recommended the quiche, and we were so glad they did. Arriving early is key - waiting less than 15 minutes was definitely worth it!
The bread at Bread is excellent, as they use traditional, time-consuming methods to great effect. My favorite is the simplest one, called Le Bâtard. While breads like croissants, chocolatines, and ginger snaps are okay, they are not their strong suit. The service is slow and lacking in efficiency, and for some strange reason, they only accept Interac, leaving cashless non-Canadians out in the cold.
The restaurant offers delicious bread, pastries, and coffee, all served by friendly staff in a beautifully decorated space. Despite the queue, the efficient service ensures you won't wait long to be served. The variety of bread is impressive and I can't wait to come back and try more.
Finally drove over to this place to buy a a few baguette's and to have a coffee with a pastry..Staff working a bit young but friendly . Latte and the Americano coffee both horrible so avoid but flaky fresh spinach mascapone cheese croissant was...excellent.The baguette's were good but smaller than regular size elsewhere..Overall if you are in the area and the line not too long give it a try..
