Saffron Cafe - Monterey

I choose this place because it was close to the conf center where we stay, had several vegan options, and a dog friendly terrace. service was very nice, friendly and helpful, especially when asked for vegan options. the lens and veneer soup tasted homemade, with a light spice-kick to live dinge. the Persian aubergine diver also tasted homemade and by hand as my Iranian friend makes it. both served on request with roasted Pita bread. I also have to go the Artisanal salad, which is a very large portion and he was very generous with the beats. when we come back to monterey, we'll be back!

This place is well worth the money, considering the top quality ingredients and the portion sizes. I was hella satisfied. I believe the man who took my order to be the owner, and it is obvious that man cares about his food, and the customer eating it. Thank You for being in Monterey, Saffron Cafe!

We found this restaurant in the town center. It was not crowded at all... We were the only customers who ordered food. We ordered six plates it took them around 15 minutes to prepare. Customers service was ok... not the best... Food was also ok but for some plate they were too much of some vegetables. Some vegetables are not fresh and are coming from can. Suitable for vegetarian. It's bit sad to put 3 stars because you do not find such places anywhere else. I still recommend this Iranian restaurant.

This place was alright. We ordered a salad and the beets were a bit wilty and mushy. I also ordered he falafel. The sauce it came with tasted a bit old and a little fermented like it had been sitting there for a while. They were out of the first two things I’d ordered since they get a lot of ingredients from the international market when they are in season. Otherwise, the falafel was great and the paninis looked excellent!

Everything we ordered was great. We ordered the roasted veggies, falafel, dolmas and hummus and ordered more food after. Even the kids loved the falafel and hummus and they've never eaten falafel before today. If you're looking for some good vegetarian food definitely a great spot.
