Bubba Gump Shrimp - Monterey

Bubba Gump is a popular themed chain restaurant that attracts visitors to coastal cities. It was my first time dining there, suggested by my fiancé as a fun outing. The staff was very friendly, and the prices were quite reasonable for a themed restaurant located in a tourist area. We spent $85 on one cocktail, an appetizer, and two main courses. The food was good, and we enjoyed everything we ordered. The restaurant's decor is appealing, especially to fans of the movie it’s based on, and the ocean view from our table was lovely. Be aware that the place tends to get busy around 1 PM, so it’s best to aim for an early lunch if you plan to visit.

Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. provides a charming dining experience with a playful Forrest Gump theme. The shrimp dishes stand out, showcasing a variety of imaginative recipes. The atmosphere is vibrant, and the friendly service from the staff enhances the overall experience. Although the menu primarily focuses on seafood, there are plenty of choices available for those who prefer non-seafood options. The prices are reasonable, making it an excellent choice for a casual meal with a distinctive flair.

The ambiance and Forest Gump-themed decor are the standout features of Bubba Gump, but unfortunately, the food doesn't measure up. Even though we had always wanted to try the restaurant, we usually passed it by because of its touristy reputation. However, after our visit to the aquarium, we finally decided to stop in for a quick dinner. The decor was charming for fans of Forest Gump, and our server was friendly. Unfortunately, the fried shrimp and fries were just average, and the gumbo was excessively salty and tasted stale, making it nearly inedible. It's wise to keep your expectations in check regarding the food at Bubba Gump.

I had never been to a Bubba Gumps before. Also seemed just like a lame tourist trap that probably didn't have good food. The food was much better than I expected though and I would definitely go to a Bubba Gumps again anytime. Solid place for seafood boils. Kids meal was a good value and gave with a fun shrimp boat tray to play with.

We had a great server and everyone was very helpful. The bonus of being a Landry's loyalty member is that we didnt have to wait the hour to get seated. They accommodated us immediately. The kitchen was a little slow but it was a packed house. Food tasted great, the atmosphere was fun if just a little loud. We had a great overall experience.
