Pizzeria Gran Caffe Il Giardino

We went to this restaurant for the advertised fsbulous views. We walked through to the terrace and yes magnificentl views.....and that was the only positive from the visit. We wanted a drink and light snack. We were charged €3 each cover charge just to sit there! The food was very mediocre and not as stated on the menu. One of us was given cold cannellini beans which were supposed to have been presented hot with tomato and garlic sauce. It was changed and a large portion brought out which was not requested but we were charged extra for it. When we queried the bill which also showed a higher charge than the menu stated for another item, we were treated very, very aggressively. Two of us were women and we were shouted at and told we had to pay what they asked or we couldn't leave!!! Appalling way to treat customers. There are far better restaurants in Montecatini Alto. I would advise you go to one of those and admire the lovely views on a gentle stoll later. .

A very attractive restaurant in a charming piazza in the heart of the village. A perfect place to soak up the local atmosphere, at least a picture-postcard version of old Italy. There is a lovely view of rural Tuscany over a balcony in a dining area at the back of the restaurant.

Ogni volta che andiamo al ristorante “Il giardino” è sempre una conferma. questa volta siamo andati con gli amici che, anche, hanno trovato eccellente questo ristorante-pizzeria. al “Garden” si mangia davvero bene, poi l'ambiente fa il resto: posto incantevole, gentilezza del personale, ottima cucina e pizza. e la signora rossella è sempre squisita e molto gentile. eccellenza assoluta.

To be honest, as typical in a tourist location, location overshadowed eating and service, we have a terrace table booked to lunch as we suspect it would be busy, and yes we have our table but, oh the service was so slow. I would go back

Abbiamo cenato qui all'inizio di agosto. Panorama stupendo, posto molto ben organizzato, anche se per raggiungere questa terrazza, la cucina doveva fare parecchi chilometri. Abbiamo preso un filetto al pepe verde con patatine e una pizza ai formaggi, che nel resto d'Italia si chiama ai 4 formaggi, ma non è importante. Non era eccezionale, diciamo così, ma ci ha fatto sorridere molto i costi di quasi tutti i piatti, come ad esempio: insalata toscana - 7.95, agnello con patate - 11.80, gnocchi ai formaggi - 10.85, verdure grigliate - 7.85, fagioli all'uccelletto - 8.85. Mi sembrava di essere in un grande ipermercato e non in un ristorante!
