La Sorgente - MONTE ARGENTARIO

This was another experience to be had. On arrival you are given instructions and are shown to a table by a nice you're lad who wipes the table and seat (this because of the forest overhead dropping stuff) At the counter on arrival you receive the menu on paper, mark off what you want, then husband took it back to the counter, paid, and received the drinks etc. After awhile your number is called we had to listen carefully for number 66 to be called in Italian! Then husband went back and collected it. It all comes in little cardboard boxes, cutlery is seperate. All this comes packed on a tray so it is easy to pack up all the rubbish again afterwards. Great idea, no washing up (except for the cutlery) it all just goes in the organic bin I guess. It was a perfect time of the day to be sitting under forest trees in the cool eating good food! I can't believe after all these years of coming to Italy we are still experiencing wonderful new things!

Stopped by for an impromptu lunch and was super happy with the result. It’s simple, traditional local food served in healthy portions and from clearly top-shelf ingredients. Polenta with sausage and pan seared artichoke was particularly noteworthy. Staff are a bunch of friendly locals happy to talk about all there is to do in their spot of heaven (Italian is easier but English works). It is in a super shady place so it’s ideal to escape the midday heat and top of the mountain. Only reason I give 4 instead of 5 stars was a big use of plastic cups and styrofoam dish-ware, which is a bit of a shame. But it in no way reduces the quality of the food which is great and hearty.

Been here 2nd time, settled in the forest, next to Monastery. Yes simply but good food. If you like to try something easy and different on Argentario, do recommend to come here for lunch

Abbiamo cenato il mese di agosto su consiglio degli amici. un po 'difficile da raggiungere la sera, ma il viaggio ne vale la pena. formula speciale con allocazione della tabella, ordine e pagamento al cassiere e successivo ritiro dei piatti. sei bella e mangi bene. la carne è eccezionale. consigliamo lo stilo di maiale che abbiamo trovato buono. prezzi moderati

Pranzo abbondante ma servizio povero. bel posto all'aperto sotto gli alberi con grandi tavoli. porzioni abbondanti con buon cibo, peccato per il servizio povero e ingiusto
