Caffe Fiaschetteria Italiana 1888

Don’t waste your time here! The owner and waitress we’re extremely rude and arrogant. Visited on September and it was pouring. We were in our party and only table available was front entrance (they did have another empty table in the rear...which they refused to give us). The table was prepared with seat but refused to allow us to “touch and maneuver” the table to accommodate us. She insisted we squeeze into the bench which was impossible! She reprimanded us for moving table and chair explaining the door needed to remain open and we would damage her furniture and walls we are years old and surely we have sense to be careful. Not worth the trip GO ACROSS STREET TO “Alte Logge Di Piazza” !! Lovely service and great experience- see pics

Even though we stopped for a caffè and nothing but a caffè (which can’t be very exceptional in a caffeteria), staff could have been more friendly and polite. The more expensive it gets, the more unfriendly they get. A pity. We paid for two...espresso’s and not a single word was spoken to us.

Maybe this cafe is more expensive, I can´t tell, because we haven´t visited others in Montalcino in one day, but we had a nice lunch there with drinks and wine included and I don´t think we paid more than at any usual (popular) place in...Tuscany. The dishes were good and it´s true the waitress forgot to bring the pepper mill after reminders, but at last we got it, and otherwise we have been satisfied.

As we arrived, wet and bedraggled, seeking shelter from the Learesque storm that raged outside, the staff here did not appear altogether pleased to see us. Their attitude changed markedly as our strong party filtered through and began to order prodigious amounts of alcohol....Our initial misgivings were proved to have been unjustified as the team swing into action mixing Aperol spritzes, pulling beers and popping Prosecco corks. We had a great time in this elegant time capsule of a cafe.

Stopped here for coffee and cake good location and prompt service. Traditional style caffe Well located in centre of town
