Al Ponte - MONTAGNA

I ate twice during my stay in the area at this restaurant. The service is gentle and quick, food is typical and generous. I would suggest Canederli in broth and the tagliatelle with Deer ragout. Try the desserts, all very tasty and abundant, prices are reasonable for the area

I always try to stop at Bruckenwirt Al Ponte when driving up to Cavalese from the A22 highway. I've only been here during the lunch hour; however, the menu does not change for dinner. Al Ponte is part hotel and part restaurant. Most of the patrons are passing through and are not all guests of the hotel. You enter Al Ponte through the bar area where some tables are located for a quick lunch or sandwich. The main dining room is decorated with an Austrian/S. Tirol atmosphere, having a combination of tables and booths. An outdoor terrace overlooking the mountain range is also available during the warm weather months. There is nothing fancy about Al Ponte; however, I can always count on getting good food here and I have never been disappointed. Portions are big and prices are very moderate. Service is attentive and helpful. The menu is written in both Italian and German and it always contains a page of daily specials. Today for lunch, I had the Speck Flavored Dumplings served in a clear broth, followed by a portion of Smoked Pork Chops served with sauerkraut. My colleague enjoyed his Goulash that was served with crisp, roasted potatoes. On another occasion, I have had and recommend their Tagliatelle Pasta with Speck. I find the portions so hearty that I am usually too full to enjoy one of Al Ponte's homemade desserts. The Apple Strudel looks delicious. Our meal today, along with a 1/2 liter of wine, a bottle of water and two espresso cafes cost 36.00 euro. I plan on returning to Bruckenwirt Al Ponte whenever I am in the area.

Very spacious and well maintained hotel, excellent cleaning in the rooms. wide choice for breakfast with very helpful staff. excellent dishes of Trentino cuisine, but also traditional dishes, treated in detail.
