Mayfair Seafood - Monroe

I was a part of a party of 20 guests. The server whose name I did not record, was very attentive and actually performed well considering the number of guests in our party. Most of the food was delivered piping hot. A couple of meals were delivered approaching cold. I give kudos to Mayfair, as there was another group seated very close to ours. That group had to be nearly 40-strong. I look forward to returning.Parking: Parking is close to the building with full-size parking spaces. My arrival time was 2:00 pm for an early dinner on Saturday before Mother's Day. Even though the restaurant seemed to be at about 80% of its seating capacity, the parking lot was full. The drive-through was quite busy as well.

Mayfair had a fire a few years ago and the building had to be be radically repaired. Since reopening with new kitchen equipment Mayfair is an excellent traditional North Carolina seafood restaurant. Much better than it was before the rebuild. The seafood is appropriately cooked without being over or under done. The tarter sauce, cocktail sauce and hushpuppys are much better than other seafood restaurants in the area. Prices are reasonable.

LARGE BANQUET AREAS FOR 60 AND 100 PEOPLE. First time I've seen 2 such a large area for birthdays, class reunions and other big gatherings. And the huge dishes of food, much larger than most restaurants. My bongbong shrimp was 2 full meals.And they have plenty of parking. The menu was compete every possible seafood or fish offering. This was my first time to eat there but I will be back.

Stopped in and asked for a menu to place an order to go. Service was GREAT, short wait, super clean restroom, food was DELICIOUS!! Thank you!Food: 5/5

HORRIBLE!!!!!!!HORRIBLE!!!! Not worth the price!!!!!!Ordered a LARGE perch plate and received 6 TINY TINY pieces of fish. You could barely see them. Hush puppies were larger and of more abundance than the fish. Had to search for the fish. Only filled tartar sauce 1/4 of the container it was in. They could have kept that and saved the container. VERY small baked potato. ABSOLUTELY NOTHING like they used to be. This is a rip off. Check out MAYFLOWER in Concord, NC OR Hartsville SC. That’s how you serve up!!!!!!!!!Most definitely WILL NOT be coming back. Work too hard for my money to receive CRUMBS. If I could give NO STARS, I would!!!!!!!!!!!!!$20 for one SMALL HORRIBLE plate. The amount looked like the burnt plate on another review.BEWARE….BEWARE….BEWARE!!!!!!!!!!
