The Walnut Tree Inn - Monmouthshire

We dined at this restaurant tonight and had a 3-course meal. The service was extremely professional and the food was simply outstanding! It is definitely deserving of its Michelin star. We celebrated a couple of birthdays last month at this restaurant. The staff gave us a very warm welcome and were friendly throughout our visit. They were attentive and helpful with drink selections, and had a great sense of humor. The menu had a good variety of fish and steak options, with some delicious starters. They also had a nice selection of wine. When our taxi was running late, the staff offered the entire group a complimentary drink while we waited, which was a nice touch and much appreciated. The prices were reasonable and the wine list was decently priced.

Had dinner here. What a treat. Great unpretentious place with the MOST friendly staff possible. I started with the Cornish fish stew which I still dream about to this day. Main was Mallard which was delicious and desert was cheesecake (best I've ever had). HEARTY portions and as I was driving was very happy to see a great mocktail menu. I will definitely be returning.
