Trente - MONIGA DEL GARDA

We’ve come here for years now, always with friends with children and family, even for parties! This place is a guarantee. The food is always good and the personnel is very friendly. Especially the pasta with coregone (fish from the Garda Lake) is our favourite. The ambience is “rustico” with a great view and a lot of space outside so the children but also adults can digest walking around the olives and the animals. At dinner you can have dinner watching the lights of Sirmione. Fantastic

I visit Trente every time I go to Lake Garda. it's an Agriturismo: a small family run restaurant and bed-and-breakfast set on a smallholding overlooking the lake near Moniga harbour. The food is delicious and authentic Italian rustic cooking, served in very generous proportions. You probably won't be able to finish all the food they bring out for you. A meal for two with wine is usually about 40 Euros. The proprietor, Franco, is a lively and very friendly individual. Franco speaks pretty good English, although most of the rest of the staff only speak Italian. They are very friendly and welcoming to everybody; regardless of any language difficulties. We usually just ask them to bring a selection of food: and we've never been disappointed with the variety, quality or quantity. The ambiance is very relaxed. This is a rustic setting. Half the tables are outside, which is wonderful on a warm evening. However, you might might want some mosquito repellent if you're sitting underneath some of the olive trees. The clientele vary from people who've come dressed up for a glamorous night out, groups of young people, families with small children, tourists etc. The views over the Lake are very good, and if you arrive in daylight you can have a wander around the farm itself. This is a great place to go if you want a more substantial meal then the pizza offering of many tourist outlets, but don't quite want to pay the full price of a fine dining more formal restaurant. If you arrive early there is a charming, home-built, bar where you can sit and have a drink, whilst enjoying the views over the lake. There is also a private children's playground by the bar. There is ample free parking. I love it. Molto bene!
