Original Joe's - MONFALCONE

We parked outside it looking for lunch before going to Trieste Airport for a flight back to UK. Absolutely brilliant idea, and we've been several times since en route to/from Istria. Easygoing, some good Istrian wine too by the glass. Great seafood and fresh pasta. Good value for money, and we spent an enjoyable hour or two with locals and off the tourist track.

Went for lunch 2 days ago. I ordered a hot sandwich and my partner ordered spaghetti carbonara. Both meals were very disappointing. My sandwich was definitely not what I was expecting from the description on the menu and my partners was a very bland penne pasta carbonara. How can you not get a good spaghetti dish in italy?? The waitress was pleasant enough but we definitely would not return or recommend this place.

We ate carbonaras, it was not bad, but it was not what we expected. The waitress was kind, the place little oldschool. We payed 28€ for 2 carbonaras, 1 water and 1 schweppes limone.

Warm friendly atmosphere. Paolo the owner and Maria the lady who works behind the bar are super friendly the bar is open for morning coffee, lunches and evening meals and closes around 2am. During the summer months you can sit outside. Love this place and the staff :
