Galeria Porca Preta - Monchique

A little difficult to find but well worth a visit. Everyone was very welcoming and it was a delight to see the exhibition with a chance to talk to the artist in residence and look around his working space. We will certainly return. Delightful location amid beautiful countryside. However, if you are wanting food they no longer have a restaurant, but bar drinks are available.

I would have loved to stay longer at Galeria Porca Preta. There are many little decorative details to discover. The place in its rustic simplicity has something peaceful about it that invites one to relax right after enjoying a plentiful and delicious meal made of fresh ingredients. I can’t say enough about the salad dressing…even poured some over my potatoes…it’s awesome! Loved the service as well. The view from the restaurant is beautiful. There are some trails around that invite for a walk through nature. Makes for a nice outing all around.
