Noodle Blast - MONA VALE

It's not called Noodle Blast anymore. The place has been taken over by the dumpling cafe next door. The food is still pretty good but the prices have gone up and standards slipped a little.

I have recently discovered this restaurant and it is a great place for lunch. I am working just around the corner now and have been going once a week. The service is quick and the food has always been very good. Well worth a visit.

Previously brilliant, I think there was a change of the peculiarities. Previously, I ordered the steamed gyozas and the Malaysian huhn satay noodles and they were divine, full of taste, sauce and also inexpensive. the pasta tonight, completely different tastes/recepts and more. expensive gyozas also, although they did not order today. sad, that won't be my way to dinner anymore.

For a quick delicious meal, Noodle Blast turned out to be a good choice. I had Thai fish cakes as an entree. There was a more than ample serving (8), presented simply with some sweet chilli sauce. The fish cakes were small, tender, very fishy...and plump. A pretty good first course. The main was a Malaysian chicken curry. It came with rice (not an extra) and was LARGE. The curry was sweet and aromatic, and contained potato, tofu and chicken breast meat. It was delicious (and way too much for me to finish). Service was pleasant but a tad slow. There is both indoor and outdoor seating. I chose the latter (on a very quiet evening) and the ambiance was excellent (given it was a 25 degree Sydney evening with enough humidity to make everything slow down). The restaurant is BYO although I just had water. A litre of ice cold water and a decent sized glass were provided gratis. Overall really good food, a pleasant location, nice staff even if service was bit slow and really excellent value.
