Bidrage med feedbackWe had a wonderful Sunday lunch at this restaurant. The food was excellent, with a great selection available, and the desserts were amazing! My husband enjoyed the variety of ales offered. Despite not being local, we would definitely travel back to dine here again.
This pub was recently sold by Hall Woodhouse, but fortunately, the same owners who have been there for over 30 years are still running it. They are traditional pub owners who are very friendly and talkative. The selection of ales has increased since the pub is no longer tied to Hall Woodhouse, so you can now enjoy ales from local breweries like Pilgrim Brewery. The food is also hearty and delicious. It's a charming pub that has remained unchanged, which is a relief.
The restaurant is quite average when compared to other options in the area. The food is not very good value for the money and the restaurant is often packed with people.
I had the nut roast, which was awful. No texture, just a slab of brown stuff that tasted like burger. Vegetables mediocre and in short supply. Only one vegan pudding choice of sorbet (in January? and no plant milk for coffee. I won't go there again.
This pub has a great atmosphere along with helpful and attentive staff, eighteen of us had lunch from the Christmas Menu and the food was excellent, tasty, well cooked and well presented
