La Santaneca Pupuseria - Modesto

The pupusas are so moist and delicious. The Masa is fresh not dry and the fillings are so good. The Chicharrón con queso is my favorite but any of their choices is going to be a good choice. If you have any leftover for the next day just cover it with a moist paper towel before microwaving and its just as good as the day they made it.

Was not a fan of the Camaron pupusa but the Asada Queso and Tocino, Jalapeño, Queso ones were good. Wished the bacon was more chapped instead of big pieces but its fine. Horchata was yummy. It tastes a little different than what I am used to (Mexican version) but its delicious!

Today, my family and I decided to go through the drive-thru at this restaurant. We placed our order and were asked to wait for our food. After about 18 minutes, our food was ready. Although I was a bit frustrated by the wait, the food was hot and fresh. The staff seemed very busy, so the wait was understandable. I have been coming to this restaurant for the past few years and the food has always been great. It is consistently delicious, hot, and fresh with high quality. However, I have noticed that the prices have gradually increased and it seems to happen annually. The restaurant has also become more popular, especially on weekends, leading to longer wait times. They have a drive-thru and a dining area. The prices listed online are not accurate, so I have attached a picture of the menu.

I visited this hidden gem today and was very happy with my experience. I ordered the 2-pupusas plate, which came with slaw, sauce, rice, and beans. My pupusas were filled with chicharron and cheese. The portions were decent and the aromas were fantastic. The restaurant was clean, the staff was friendly, and I will definitely return to try something else.

The pupusas at this restaurant are always delicious. Our favorite dishes are the chicharon con queso and queso pupusas. I would give them an extra star if they improved their curtido - it's not as flavorful and fresh as it could be.
