Bidrage med feedbackIf I could give a restaurant a skull intead of one star I would do it now. The place is empty and we waited for more than an hour. We did not get the food at the same time... by no means. We had to wait ten min for the other dishes. Some lame excuse thay the shef was injured. The food was terrible...undercooked pasta...salmon like rubber and everything was to salty. Horrible experince...angry waiter. Look can be decieving. Looked good on the outside but....
If you want to experience how a restaurant exploits its location, eat at the Gusto Premiere. If you want to enjoy decent food at an appropriate price, then don’t. We had lunch there because it was 12 noon and most other restaurants in that part of town open only at 12:30. And also because it looked quite nice, not only from the outside but also inside the Roman murals on the arched ceiling make an interesting contrast to the modern interior. Too bad the food didn’t match that standard. After enjoying a serious breakfast at the hotel we had room only for some pasta. My wife opted for spaghetti vongole (16€ . She loves fish and seafood when it’s prepared with some imagination; this one wasn’t, at least if you don’t find a load of raw, thick zucchini strips imaginative. It tasted as if the clams had just been boiled in water and put on the plate, no trace of any aroma, not even garlic. Actually, quite a shame if you look at the restaurant’s name. I followed the waiter’s recommendation and ordered passatelli (14€ , a local pasta made from breadcrumbs and parmesan. I envy the region for many a specialty, especially for those from the ham and cheese department, but not for this one. But, in case this dish is not supposed to taste that bland, my apologies to all other passatelli makers. As you can see, the boring pasta wasn’t actually a bargain. Value for money became even worse by a cheeky coperto charge of 4€ each. That’s why it’s not surprising that we were the only guests throughout the whole lunch – people who know the place seem to give it a wide berth.
This is a very elegant restaurant. Very stylish interior, chic, etc. Beautiful historical ceiling. Even though, the staff is very friendly they are not as attentive as they should be... Dining in these kind of restaurants, requires attentive staff. If I order a diet coke, I do not want to end up with coke zero, if I ask for a drink with no ice cubes, I do not want to end up with ice cubes. Also, I am expecting staff to be well dressed. Except for the maître, I had the impression that some of the waiters were somewhat improvised when it came to their outfit. Their clothes were clean, no doubt, but one waiter was not wearing socks, which is a bit of a no-go, in this kind of elegant environment. The restaurant, definitely has potential, due to its location, due to its interior decoration, etc., but they should train their staff (not the maître). The food was good but for what I mentioned above, clearly overpriced.
On my little holiday in modena I stopped to make an aperitif in this place. local music of clean background very nice aperitif to poor fruit.
How to briefly describe a restaurant of this level? I think it's impossible, but we try. in this place, in this context, with a menu to say a little star I would also like to add ready for the micheline star, my personal opinion remains that we are saying one of the best places, especially in terms of quality price, that you can experience in the center of my beloved city. certainly in modena we also have the chef bottura and the Franciscans, but those who can afford to book and sit are the goal is only the elect for us common mortals, skilled degotators and sitter of perfumes, geese, emotions and with the olfactory and goutative papillas stand out sensibly, but sopratturro to look for quality and originality here to despot the mastery of the kitchen. word of a food estimator! good degotation to the first goto.
