Cave Vineyard - Missouri

I came here after a hike at Hawn, not knowing what to expect based on other reviews. We were very pleased with our experience! The building itself has nice touches and everything is very clean. Emily helped us and her service was above and beyond. She was very kind and helpful and really knew her stuff! We got a couple bottles and headed down to the cave. Went back this time around, staff wasn't as nice as I remember. Also seems like they've added stricter rules regarding the cave. Minimum purchase of 1 bottle per 5 people (including children)seems a little out of line…

The site claims a cool cave and jacket may be needed, even in summer. This is an outright lie, the cave was warm, very warm and beyond humid. Overpriced wine is one thing but trying to relax in a warm, humid cave and drink is a terrible thing to do.

We were disappointed in the experience here— this winery is not living up to its potential. Right away with the tasting portion, you’re given 5 small plastic shot-like cups; the atmosphere in the tasting room was very dull with flies/fruit flies around us the entire time. We probably should not have expected there be a bar or restaurant area in the cave… but FYI there is nothing in there besides tables. The red cave wine was spot on, the staff was friendly and the cave was amazing
