My wife and I had a craving for some fish and chips, so we took to Yelp. Queen's Fish and Chips doesn't look like much from the outside, but the food more
I have been passing this place for 20 years. Despite being at the plaza and the Streetsville library across the street I didn’t realize Queen’s Fish and Chips was there. Apparently they have been in business for 50 years.Inside is small; I think there is seating for about 14. The menu is up on the wall with specials listed on the side wall. One special was ‘Newfie Fries’, Newfoundland version of Poutine. Queen’s has the traditional version with breadcrumb stuffing and gravy over the fries and also a ground beef version. I don’t like poutine but I will give Newfie Fries a try next time. This time I had a standard haddock and fries with malt vinegar. There are packets of tarter sauce and lemon juice which I didn’t open. The fish was tasty. The batter was perfectly cooked on the outside but a bit mushy on the inside. You can park in the plaza across the street and walk over or there is a gap between Queen’s and the next building. This space has parking for about ten cars.
We visited recently for lunch and enjoyed the Fish and Chips. The fish was very fresh and cooked well. The owners look after you well. It is not a large place but great for a sit in or take out. Good Customer Service as well.
