Bidrage med feedbackWe went to Kailash Parbat yesterday. This is a vegetarian only restaurant. We ordered dahi puri and Veg Manchurian dry for starters. And then diwani handi, schezwan noodles. For dessert we ordered rasmalai. The food was good not great. I expected better quality as the rates were a bit on the higher end in comparison to the other Indian restaurants in the area. The noodles were way too spicy. Dahi puri was good. Diwani handi said would come with mixed veg and Paneer but the Paneer was kinda missing from the dish. I expected more Paneer in a 15$ dish. Service was good, restaurant ambience was average.
First impression is a lasting impression, I can definitely understand this saying when I think about my experience at Kailash Parbat. There has been a huge hype about this restaurant and I was really looking forward to having an amazing experience. We were a group of 5, and when we walked in, we had to stand for almost 5 minutes for someone to acknowledge our existence and seat us.I asked if we could get a table which is not beside the door and they told us no that the guests sitting in the blocked off area is the only other area which is free however, there is a big group seated there and we don't want to disturb them...fine we will sit beside the door. Then it took an additional 10 minutes for someone to come with the menus and water.A gentleman came to our table and asked how we were doing and seemed really nice and so I was going to let go of the slow service and make the most of the dinner.(I assume he was the owner/manager)He told us about the options for larger groups should we want to have a party. We asked him about the blocked off area which was half empty and he quickly offered for our group to be moved and seated there instead, however, we said it is ok since we are already seated but did mention we were told we can't sit there because we may disturb the group currently seated in this section....no comment. Finally we got our order in, which by the way was repeated 3 times for accuracy.Chaat platter was amazing, I have to say it is one of the best I have ever had and I give credit where credit is deserved. Dinner was not so amazing, we ordered the daal makhani which was pretty decent because it was LOADED with cream but the malai kofta and biryani was just horrible, no real flavour and quite bland. The paneer tikka which we ordered did not come and so we asked the other waitress to check what is happening with it before the naans run out and we added the biryani order which she said comes with a nice big size of raita and suggested we do not order extra raita. (it comes in a little tiny bowl barely to serve one)Off she went with our updated order and to find out the status of the paneer tikka... and we never saw her again!!!!Naans are really small in size, generally when we go to an Indian restaurant 1 naan is more than enough for 1 person, we ordered 5 naans as there were a couple of guys in our group and they eat more than the girls.Portions of the main course was also very small and I don't think it was worth it based on the quality and the taste.Chaat platter was an excellent size, no complaints with that. From the time our food came to our table and to the time we finished our meal, not one person from staff came to ask if everything was ok or refill the water and the paneer tikka never made it to our table. The funny thing is that when we were done our meal the original waitress came and asked if we still wanted the paneer tikka as it came to her attention we wanted to place an order for it.We told her that we are finished our meal and we had ordered it as a main dish which never came. She said she did not recall and checked her book and basically argued with us, finally she admitted her mistake and apologized. We paid the bill and that was it.Pros:Chaat Platter, excellent sizeAppealing decorum Comfortable Cons:Service, not enough wait staff (can't keep up with tables)Small portionsMain course no flavourToo pricey and not worth the quality being provided Dirty dishes (sent back)I was told this restaurant is good for snack foods and not dinner meals and I think I agree because the only thing I won't complain about is the chaat. Two thumbs up.Will I come back? 99% sure the answer is NO. If it was only a couple of problems, I would not have really cared but, our experience from beginning to end was no goodWill I recommend this restaurant to others? Yes, but only for entrees/appetizersHopefully this review will help others. Happy Dining :)
We have been to Kailash Parbat a few times now but first time for lunch this past Sunday for Mother's Day with a group of 12 ladies. We had a reservation which was great since the place was pretty busy. We were not aware of the buffet so that was a pleasant surprise. Not as much selection as Brar's but what they had was good. yummy chaat, paneer and a veg 65 which was superb. Staff is attentive and pleasant which is bonus at some of the indian food places.Definitely worth it - hope the service is maintained!Thank you!
